- Surveillance implies the monitoring of activities of an individual or persons, a place or an object. As such Counter-surveillance is different and includes techniques to enable one to do what one need to do, despite knowing that one are under surveillance. These measures are usually undertaken to prevent surveillance including covert surveillance. It may include electronic methods such as technical surveillance counter measures, which is the process of detecting surveillance devices.
